Guardian Gears Shark Tank India Pitch:
Guardian Gears manufactures and sells premium quality Tank Bags, Tail Bags, Saddle Bags Backpacks and another bike related products. They have sold their products to over 30,000 customers by the time of their pitch. Their products can be purchased through Amazon, their website and Across 70 stores in India. Their vision is to become India’s top motercycle luggage brand and then take this globally. For this, The founders sought an investment of ₹30 lakhs for 5% of the company valuing their business at ₹6 Crores.
Guardian Gears have 3-4 competeotrs. All their manufacturing is in house and they employee 30 people in their factory. Ismail shared that they sell 25-30 thousand bags per year and closed last financial year of FY20-21 at ₹1.5 Crores. They are projecting to close FY21-22 to ₹2.5 Crores as they have already made ₹1.25 Crores. Their margin is at 50% and they are EBITA positive at 12-15%. 60% of their product is sold on Amazon and rest through their own website.
Guardian Gears Shark Tank India Negotiations & Funding:
Ashneer was the first shark to go out due to the niche mark and scaling issues. Aman goes out as well due to concerns with business growth.
Vineeta, Peyush and Anupam join hands to give their offer with some conditions. First one being that the founders will need to shut down their physical store. Secondly, The company need to change their logo and bring a someone for branding. With that, They offer ₹30 Lakhs for 30% of the company. Peyush adds that this offer would be non-negotiable. The founders still counter at 15% which sharks refused and Guardian Gears walk out of Tank without a deal.
