Gopal 56, India’s first ice cream and shake brand, was established in 1983 in New Delhi and has gained nationwide popularity with outlets in several Indian states. They offer a variety of vegetarian and oil-free ice cream flavors, including Ashwagandha, Tulsi, Curcumin, and Brahmi, and operate under a franchise model with five outlets in New Delhi. Gaurav added that they have a selection of over 90 ice cream flavors and supply to the Indian Air Force. He also shared that one of their outlets in Kalkagi generates around 4 Crore in annual revenue with a net profit margin of 22%.
During the Shark Tank India pitch, Gaurav mentioned that they conducted clinical trials, but he didn’t disclose the expert’s name, referring to her as “the Guru.” Anupam questioned their plans for the 300 Crores investment, primarily focusing on setting up a full production unit. While the sharks loved the ice cream, they were not impressed with the valuation.

In the negotiations, Anupam exited the deal, expressing concerns about the lack of a clear growth plan and the substantial ask. Namita also opted out, emphasizing the need for scientific testing for global ambitions. Peyush didn’t find the investment viable, and Aman, citing concerns about valuation, also went out. Ashneer also shared similar sentiments and exited the deal.
How is Gopal 56 doing after Shark Tank India?

Further research revels that they decided not to expand internationally and are concentrating on their Delhi operations for the time being. In addition to that they opened a new outlet in Shalimar Bagh New Delhi in summer 2022.
