CreativeHatti is an Indian startup which appeared on Shark Tank India Season 3 Episode 28. They specialize in providing 100% desi stock graphics like Indianized character bundles, design templates, and other graphic assets which help businesses with their branding. The founders shared that their graphics are used not only by startups but also by giants like Flipkart, Amazon, and PayTm. Further, The company has a stock of over 1 Lakh characters under their umbrella and has over 10 Lakh vectors downloaded from their website. The founders’ vision is to give every business a visual identity through CreativeHatti; therefore, they sought an investment of ₹60 Lakhs for 2% of the company, valuing the business at ₹30 Crores.
CreativeHatti develops all their characters and templates in-house. Also, Their pricing for an entire character bundle is around ₹4,000 for a lifetime. The founders added that they never transfer the IPs to customers but just license their characters to avoid any IP infringement issues.
CreativeHatti’s Financials & Revenue during Shark Tank India:
CreativeHatti has 3 revenue streams. Their own website brings in 50% of the total revenue, 30% comes from custom orders, and 20% comes from marketplaces. The company was started in 2020, and they closed the first financial year at ₹1.5 Crores. Further, This was followed by over 60% growth, and they closed FY21-22 with revenue of ₹2.5 Crores. Last financial year, which would be FY22-23, CreativeHatti made revenue of ₹4 Crores. Moreover, They have a repeat rate of 22% and are projecting to close FY23-24 at ₹7 Crores.
CreativeHatti made revenue of ₹55 Lakhs in August 2023 with net profits of around ₹13 Lakhs. Their current team size is 40 people. Their average order value is around ₹250, and currently, the company is not investing in marketing. The company pays ₹20 Lakhs in just salaries per month, and directors take another ₹5 Lakhs in salaries per month.
CreativeHatti Shark Tank India Negotiations & Funding:
Anupam was the first shark to go out of CreativeHatti’s negotiations as he felt like this was a creative business fundamentally that would be threatened by AI in the future. Vineeta goes out due to a lack of defensibility in this business. Namita felt like there will be issues in scalability and taking exit as an investor; therefore, she goes out as well. Amit goes out because he felt like this was not investable. Aman also goes out due to similar reasons as other sharks mentioned. CreativeHatti walked out of the Tank without a deal.
