Vikrant Bikes, an Indian startup, made its debut on Shark Tank India Season 3 Episode 31. After two years of research and development, they have successfully developed a bike powered by hydrogen-ethanol fuel. Ethanol, a biofuel, is obtainable at ₹65 per litre, and with 1 litre of ethanol fuel, the bike achieves an impressive mileage of 50-55 kmpl. This iteration marks the 9th version of the bike. Utilizing 99.9% pure ethanol, the bike generates electricity through an alternator, subsequently producing hydrogen gas. Notably, the founder has meticulously constructed the bike chassis from scratch.

The founder aims to establish both an ethanol plant and a bike manufacturing unit in order to make the bike accessible to everyone.

Aman was the first shark to opt out of negotiations, as he believed the founder’s vision was somewhat unrealistic and that starting up in the automobile industry entails significant costs. On the other hand, Namita suggested that the founder explore joining another company’s R&D department to gain more insight; subsequently, she proposed relaunching the company with improved strategies. She also offered to connect the founder with other R&D professionals.
Anupam emphasized that Namita’s advice was valuable and encouraged the founder to consider it, ultimately opting out himself. Ritesh also chose to step aside from negotiations but expressed willingness to help the founder raise capital for future ethanol plant ventures if needed. Amit advised the founder to explore alternative applications for the technology and offered to assist if any opportunities arose. Lastly, Anupam expressed willingness to support the founder in patenting the technology and offered to cover the associated fees.
