Sharmaji Ka Atta Shark Tank Pitch:
Sharmaji Ka Aata is a brand which produces Chakki flour. They worked with nutritionist to make their flour better. They have over 4000 customer in Pune. The company shared that they have their product available in leading stores across Pune. They have over 40 varieties of flour and their vision is to take those pan-India. To make that vision a reality, they sought investment of ₹40 Lakhs for 10% of the company. 70% of their sales comes from Sharbati Wheat and founders antecipate that after some growth they will narrow down to few SKUs to scale the business.
Sharmaji Ka Aata has not spent any money on marketing so far. Sangeeta shared that she wakes up and the first thing she does is post messages in 100s of groups reminding people about their brand and Flour needs. She also delivered her product by herself to consumers to get that one-on-one interaction.
Sharma Ji Ka Aata started in 2019 and made ₹12 lakh in their first financial year which was FY21-21. This was followed by a growth rate of 125% next year to ₹27 Lakhs. The company’s projected sales for FY 22-23 were at ₹40 Lakhs. Their gross margin is at 63% and their net is at 38%. Their price for a 5 kilogram bag is at ₹295. Founders shared that 20% of the business comes from their own website, 25% WhatsApp and rest comes from offline, marketplaces etc. The company also have its own outlet which brings in about 20% of revenue.
Sharmaji Ka Atta Shark Tank Negotiations & Funding:
Anupam didn’t think it was the right idea for founders to take an investment in this company. Namita shared the same sentiment therefore they both went out of the negotiations. Aman goes out after hearing offers from other sharks to invest in the company.
Amit gives the first offer of ₹20 lakh for 25% of the company and the rest as debt at 12% interest. Amit commented that it was an early-stage business therefore he wanted higher equity for his investment. Vineeta also offers of ₹20 Lakh for 20% and the rest as debt at the same interest as Amit. Amit asks Vineeta if he can join her deal which she agreed to.
Anupam didn’t like how bad the offers were therefore He came back in negotiations to offer ₹40 lakhs for 20% of the company. Amit revised the offer to ₹30 Lakh for 20% of the company and the rest as debt but Interest-free. The founders accepted Anupam’s offer and they shook hands on that.

The company shared through their socials that Anupam has been more than just an investor. In February 2024, Shark Tank shared another update on their socials that during Diwali 2023, They have sold over 35 tons of wheat flour and they have expanded across India.
