Polish Me Pretty is an Indian startup which appeared on Shark Tank India Season 3 Episode 27. The company has over 200 options of nail colors and provides customizable options as well. Also, Their nails are reusable up to 5 times and are Handmade, Hand polished and handcrafted. Their products are available through their own website and other online marketplaces. The founder sought an investment of ₹25 Lakhs for 25% of the company valuing the business at ₹1 Crores.
Polish Me Pretty had 790 Instagram followers at the time of their pitch. The founder shared that her vision is to become one-stop-shop for anything manicure pedicure related needs. She is also targeting GenZ as their main consumer base. Pricing of their nails is around ₹1,300. The company added that their main differentiator is that their nails are handmade and reusable.
Polish Me Pretty Revenue & Financials during Shark Tank India:
Polish Me Pretty has sold 160 boxes on Blinkit in October 2023. Their lifetime sales are around ₹15.5 Lakhs so far and founder added that her monthly sales are not yet stable. Their pitch was shot in December 2023 and the company was projecting the revenue of ₹6,54,593 due to a PO from Zepto order.
Polish Me Pretty is projecting a revenue of around ₹20 Lakhs for FY23-24. The founder shared that she is hoping to double that by the end of next year so projection for FY24-25 is at around ₹50 Lakhs. Their COGS is ₹400 and they sell it from ₹1,299 on their own website, Blinkit is ₹660 and Zepto is ₹770.
Polish Me Pretty Shark Tank India Negotiations & Funding:
Peyush was the first shark to give Polish Me Pretty an offer. He offered the company a dream deal of exactly what they asked for which was ₹25 Lakhs for 25% of the company. Anupam goes out because he felt like this would still need a category creation and nails are a market which all fashion brands will compete in. Namita felt like it was way too early for the investment therefore she goes out. Aman shared the same sentiment therefore went out of the negotiations as well.
Vineeta did have issues with the branding but wanted to take a bet on entrepreneur’s persistence so she offered ₹51 Lakhs for 51% of the company. The founder takes a moment to think and comes back to accept Peyush’s offer of ₹25 Lakhs for 25% of the company valuing the business at ₹1 Crore.
Who is the founder of Polish Me Pretty?
Anoushka Rele founded Polish Me Pretty. She is from Pune and 22 years old at the time of her pitch. She graduated from the School of Design and Innovation from Mumbai. In the past, she has run a cupcake van with her mother when she was 14. She has also managed Instagram pages to sell stationery and clothing. She has also opened a streetwear brand in 2019 which went out of business.
