Gudworld Shark Tank India Pitch:
Gudworld is an Indian startup which provides consumers with pure & hygienic Gud(Jaggery) in 5-10 grams of convenient sizes. Their Jaggery is also available with 12 infused flavours like coffee, ginger etc. The founder’s vision is to reach 1 Crore people in the next 5 years and with that they sought an investment of ₹50 Lakhs for 2% equity in the company valuing the business at ₹25 Crores.
Gudworld makes all their products in-house in their stainless steel USA FDA-Certified manufacturing facility. They sell both online and offline. Forty years of jaggery manufacturing experience in founder’s family and combined with modern technology helped establishing this business.
Gudworld started in April 2021 and so far they have sold over 2 Crore bites of their products. The form factor of the products was finished in December 2019. The founders shared that their Unique selling proposition is their cubes which makes it convenient to consume Jaggery & flavours. The products do not expire for 1 year.
Gudworld’s Financials & Revenue Shark Tank India:
Gudworld did a soft launch in February 2020 at Gulfood with visitors from different countries. The founders shared that the total Jaggery market in India is worth ₹6,500 Crores, and it is $4.2 Billion USD in Global markets. The Brand sources their sugarcane from their family farm, which has 100-150 Acres dedicated to sugarcane production.
Gudworld made a revenue of ₹1.48 Crores in FY23-24. For last 3 months, The company did a revenue of ₹37 Lakhs in August 2024, ₹48 Lakhs in September and ₹69 Lakhs in October 2024. The company have done a revenue of ₹2.2 Crores by september in FY24-25 and they are projecting to close the year at ₹6-7 Crores.
Most of their revenue comes from Offline markets. General trade brings in 45% of total revenue; modern trade brings in 15%, E-commerce and website bring in 15%, Exports bring in another 20% and the rest comes from HoReCa. They are currently available in 2,800 Stores across seven states. The company sells their products at 1.5X of competitors.
The company’s Hero product is 5-gram gudbites, and for unit economics, it sells for ₹89 and ₹4.5 goes to GST. Raw material takes 15%, and Logistics & packaging take another 5%, leaving them with a gross margin of 75%. They also leave distributor margins of 30%, Employee benefit expenses take another 18%, shipping is at 6%, and marketing at 4.8%, leaving them with an EBITDA of 14.2%.
The founder’s family have invested a total of ₹4.5 Crores in the business. Pretti has 45% equity in the company, Sayali has 25%, and Their family members have the rest of the company.
Gudworld Shark Tank India Negotiations & Funding:
Aman gives the first offer of ₹50 Lakhs in exchange for 6% equity in the company. Peyush went out due to the equity structure of the company. Vineeta didn’t agree with the GTM strategy of the company therefore she went out as well. Varun gave the same offer as Aman with a condition that there will be no family involved in this. Anupam went out citing there are two good offers on the table.
The founders take a moment to think and come back to the counter with ₹50 Lakhs for 3%. Varun went out after this counter. Aman said he would do a deal for ₹50 Lakhs at 5% valuing the business at ₹10 Crores. The founders accepted that and they shook hands on ₹10 Crore valuation.

Our research in the Gudworld revealed that while they did get a deal on Shark Tank India, whether that deal closed with Aman is still unclear. Early signs however suggest that the deal is pretty close to being finalized.
