Golden Feathers Shark Tank India Pitch:
Golden Feather innovated a new natural fiber called feather wool by upcycling chicken butchery waste. For every 1 kg of chicken, 650 grams consist of edible chicken meat, while 350 grams comprise butchery chicken waste (BCW). Delhi, NCR, and UP collectively produce around 30 lakh metric tonnes of butchery chicken waste in a year, which takes 60-70 years to biodegrade. Golden Feather trains ragpickers to collect BCW, who then process it through 27 natural sanitation processes and segregate it. The waste converts approximately 93% into fertilizers, while the feathers undergo separation from the waste.
They categorize feathers into 3 categories: the first one being woven, which they use for making shawls and mufflers; the second category is fillers, which they use for quilts and jackets; and the third category is non-woven, which they use for handmade printing and writing papers. It’s worth mentioning that according to the founder’s claim, a 65-gram muffler reduces carbon footprints by 9 kg, and each tribal women artisan receives 3 days of employment. Additionally, a process patent has been granted and published.
Golden Feathers Financials and Revenue during Shark Tank India:
In Aug ’23 – Oct ’23, they did 94 lakhs in sales and are projecting to end this year with 1.5 Crores in sales. In 2021, they raised the first round of 30 lakhs with a valuation of 5 Crores. Currently, they have 200 full-time tribal women workers and 1000 part-time tribal women.
Who are founders of Golden Feather?

Golden Feather Shark Tank India Negotiations & Funding:
Amit was the first shark to choose to opt out of negotiations and advised them to focus on increasing sales by selling the fiber to shawl manufacturers and others. Namita also chose to opt out as she believes they are asking too high a price and they need to be realistic. On the other hand, Aman cannot understand why they need 5 crores and does not believe in their innovations; for these reasons, he chose to exit from negotiations.
Ritesh advised them to add a business executive to the team to help increase the sales of Golden Feather and also promised to give a 10 lakh grant to the NGO they are associated with. Then, he chose to opt out. Anupam believed the product wasn’t fitting in the markets and that the founders were trying different things, thus sidelining themselves from negotiations.
