Digiqure Shark Tank Pitch:
DigiQure, a telemedicine startup established by NIT-Bhopal alumni in 2020, focuses on delivering essential healthcare services to rural areas through telemedicine-based e-clinics. These clinics enable remote consultations with specialist doctors, digital prescriptions, medication delivery, lab tests, and necessary referrals to partner hospitals for advanced care. They also give people Sakhsham Cards which is a subscription service to get free consultations at their clinics. Consumers pay ₹1 per day to become a member for these services.
At the time of the pitch, DigiQure had 7 clinics and 2 mobile clinics in Madhya Pradesh. They have partnered up with over 50 doctors in multiple hospitals to help over 4000 patients. Founders are hoping to expand in north east India soon and eventually expand pan India. They sought investment of ₹40 lakh for 4% of the company. Founders have invested over ₹60 Lakh in this business so far and had 1800 subscribers. From January 2022 to September 2022, they have generated over ₹12 lakh of revenue with last month being at ₹4 lakh. Notably, Half of that revenue came from hospitals for their marketing services. Founders added that, Their monthly burn was at ₹1.5 lakh.
Digiqure Shark Tank Negotiations and Funding:
Aman was the first shark to step out of the deal citing that while he support the cause, He is not sure if that could be turned into a business. Namita gives the first offer with Vineeta coming along citing that they loved the cause. They offer ₹40 lakh for 20% of the company. Peyush offers ₹1 Crore for 25% of the company and he adds that he would like to go solo on this deal. Namita revises her offer after this so she offers ₹40 lakh for 15% of the company.
Anupam comments that he doesn’t see how this could be turned into a business or what would be the business model but he would like to join the Team. Therefore, He offered ₹1 Crore for 10% of the company. This was a dream deal as its the exact valuation asked by the founders. That being said all offers came with condition that the IT company needed to be merged with DigiQure. Founders Takes a moment to think and comes back to counter Namita at ₹40 lakh for 10% of the company which she accepts without any hesitation and they shake hands on that.
Who are the founders of DigiQure?
Akanksh Tandon founded DigiQure. They are based from Madhya Pradesh. Akanksh comes from a small town in Madhya Pradesh and has past experience of loosing people due to not having medical accessible which has pushed him to pursue this venture. He cleared all India entrance exam and graduated from NIT Bhopal. He also cleared PSU and worked for the government. Akanksh had another two founders who were partner with him in an IT company which oprates as different entity.
How is DigiQure doing after Shark Tank India?
Our research in the company revealed that their Shark Tank India Deal with Namita did indeed Closed after the show aired. Company also partnered up with another one of Namita’s Shark Tank Investment AyuSynk to get their medical devices into their E-Clinics along with another Shark Tank appeared device Spandan from Sunfox Technologies. They have also expanded to 5 cities across India and as of November 2023, The company is still in business and growing.
