CureSee Vision Therapy, a startup that introduced the world’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based Vision Therapy Software for treating conditions like Amblyopia (Lazy Eye), Squint Eye, and Convergence Insufficiency, made an appearance on Shark Tank India Season 2, Episode 34. The software provides personalized and adaptive therapy for patients with Amblyopia, using AI. The company was founded in 2019 and offers free eye screening on their website. Consumers typically see positive results within 1-2 months.
CureSee has received awards and support from the Government of India and claims to have successfully treated over 2,500 patients at the time of their pitch. They also have one published research paper supporting their claims of vision correction, with two more research projects in progress.CureSee charges between 12,000 and 18,000 rupees for 3-6 month subscriptions and distributes its software through hospitals. In the last month, they generated revenue of ₹2.64 lakh and had 310 active patients.
Curesee Shark Tank Negotiations:
Namita expressed interest in integrating CureSee into her current EMCURE network and offered ₹50 lakh for 10% equity. Aman opted out of the deal, citing his lack of expertise in the field. Vineeta also followed Aman, considering Namita the ideal partner for this venture. Peyush, on the other hand, was intrigued and offered ₹1 crore for 25% of the business. he was also open to matching Namita’s offer. Anupam also commented that Peyush and Namita were better partners and he steps out of the deal.
Namita later revised her offer to ₹40 lakh for 7.5% equity, while Peyush maintained his original offer. The company asked Peyush to match Namita’s offer but Peyush declined. Following this, Namita revised her offer again to ₹40 lakh for 5% equity, doubling the valuation Peyush had offered and meeting the company’s initial request. In response, Peyush raised his offer by adding an additional ₹10 lakh for the same equity. The company ultimately accepted Peyush’s offer of ₹50 lakh for 10% of the company.
How is CureSee Doing After Shark Tank India?
Our research on the company has revealed that CureSee’s deal with Peyush on Shark Tank India never Finalized after the pitch. While the reasons for the deal falling through remain undisclosed. Despite this setback, the company is still thriving. Their website indicates that they have assisted over 2,800 patients and are connected with 350+ doctors in 80+ cities. CureSee has also received five awards from various organizations and governments.
In an interview with “The Story Beneath,” CureSee Founder Puneet shared that the response after the show aired exceeded their expectations. He mentioned that his phone was inundated with calls, receiving 700-800 calls daily, and they are still working on fulfilling the orders. They have also introduced a Chatbot to manage the influx of orders. Puneet acknowledged that they are still refining their pricing but believes they provide value for what they charge.
