BOOZ Scooter Shark Tank Pitch:
Booz is South Asia’s pioneering app-based scooter operator, with a mission to make scooters accessible at business parks, commercial areas, and industrial zones. We offer scooter rentals on a monthly subscription or pay-per-ride basis, making commuting or leisurely rides hassle-free. Our ultimate vision is to combat inner-city pollution by providing an eco-friendly mode of transportation. We’re not just retailers; we’re service providers, and our founder is a professional automotive engineer.
In the past 10 months, despite facing challenges like COVID-19 and relocating to different areas, our business has achieved total sales of 4 lakhs. Our app-operated scooters have garnered positive attention from the Sharks due to their user-friendly interface.
BOOZ Scooter Shark Tank Negotiations & Funding:
Anupam exits as the first Shark, expressing doubts about the business’s growth potential. Namita follows suit, citing a lack of connection to the business. Ashneer raises a valid point about the absence of scooter availability in hotels. Aman opts out, given that the company doesn’t manufacture the product and lacks a strong defense strategy.
Vineeta and Ashneer team up to give an offer. Their joint offer comes in at 40 lakhs for a 50% stake in the business, with Ashneer presenting a fresh perspective on its potential. Rutvij humorously consults his dad over the phone, and the Sharks playfully tease that they’re trying to buy the entrepreneur himself, not just the company. Rutvij returns with a counteroffer of 40 lakhs for a 33% stake, but the Sharks decline. After careful consideration, Rutvij accepts their offer of 50%.
How is BOOZ Scooter doing after Shark Tank India?
Our research into the company confirms that the deal with the Sharks was Never concluded despite getting an agreement on Air. There isn’t much information available on how or why the deal fell though. Unfortunately, detailed financial information about the brand is limited.
As of January 2024, the company is still operational and thriving. Notably, they’ve expanded to include the Statue of Unity & Kankaria Lake Ahmedabad among their locations.
